How does Go integrate with other systems?
AXE (Application Exchange Engine) is the integration engine that comes as a part of the Go platform. This is a highly scalable asynchronous integration engine that is implemented in many Olympic clients’ sites. This provides integration with 3rd party applications such as Payroll, Finance or other middleware.
Does Go come with a standard report suite and ability for users to run adhoc reports?
SQL Reporting Service comes as part of the Go platform. There are many standard reports available. By and large clients tend to use SQL Reporting Service to develop their own set of reports.
Typically clients link Go into their own BI system (such as BI360) and use SQL Reporting Services in Go to provide day-to-day operational reports.
Is Go accessible remotely by field staff via portable devices e.g laptops, smartphones and tablets?
The Go platform can be delivered to laptops and tablets via the web browser or the desktop application or the mobile application.
Our focus right now is to develop for Windows operating systems but we are considering iOS too.
Does Go scale up to a large enterprise?
The Go platform is a horizontally scalable system that is highly dependent on hosted/on-premise solution architecture / mix. We have already successfully implemented Go with a 250 concurrent user requirement. However using the same technology we have successfully implemented systems that have well over 1,000 concurrent users using a more intensive usage pattern.
How does Go authenticate users?
If a user has been linked up with the Active Directory, the user will be windows authenticated. If the user is trying to access the Go system on another machine that they’re not logged on with the associated Active Directory account, then the email and nominated password is required for the login process.
Currently, an external user has to login with their email and password. However through the use of the Windows Identity Foundation (to create a trust relationship with the Security Token Services of iGovt and Active Directory), support for SAML 2.0 and the use of Active Directory Federation Services would allow for the required integration of external logins.
Does Go allow a flexible granularity of intervals and periods?
The Go platform allows the granularity of time intervals that can be configured to any time period: therefore time can be setup in x minute, hours, days, weeks, months or yearly intervals. Similarly, schedules can be setup for someone to work over any duration if the business rules allow it.
Go has been designed to enable multiple modes of time management. It is inherent in its time-slot orientation. i.e. a period of time is composed of time-slots and this level of granularity gives Go flexibility to meet differing user needs.
This design is unique and provides the level of flexibility that most time recording systems lack.
